Born in Potenza in 1973. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in July 1997 with an experimental thesis “Galectins expression in human bladder carcinoma” with honors (110/110 cum laude) from the “Federico II” Faculty of Naples. In October 2002, with a thesis on “Molecular cancerogenesis of the urothelium: the role of HOX genes” and with a score of 70/70, he obtained his specialization in Urology. After specialization, he worked at the National Cancer Institute of Naples as a fellow, then at the “G. Rummo” Hospital in Benevento, and finally as a Level II Medical Director and head of the Urological Robotics Unit at ASL Abruzzo2. In 2005, he obtained the title of Fellow of the European Board of Urology, completed a Masterclass in Urolaparoscopy in 2007, and in 2009 attended the European School of Urology Masterclass in Salzburg.
In 2018, he completed a PhD in Translational Medicine, Oncology Curriculum, at the University of Chieti with a thesis on hormone-refractory prostate cancer.
Proficient in most operative techniques (open, laparoscopic, robotic, and endourological) and diagnostic procedures (ultrasound, biopsy, urodynamics, endoscopy), he is knowledgeable in therapeutic indications and strategies across various areas of urological pathology.

In the scientific field, he is primarily involved in uro-oncology, having founded the first European multicenter database for renal neoplasms, but his fields of interest cover almost all urological areas.
He is the author of more than 180 peer-reviewed articles.
He has participated in more than 160 national and international congresses; as a speaker, he has taken part in more than 60 scientific meetings on various topics in urology. His h-index is 46 (September 2018, Google Scholar source).
He is an active member of the European Association of Urology and the Italian Society of Urology. He works as an active reviewer for European Urology, World Journal of Urology, Urology, British Journal of Cancer, European Journal of Surgical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, International Journal of Urology and Nephrology, and other journals.
He is an examiner for the European Board of Urology.
