Dr. Daniel Cabezas completed his studies and first years of surgical experience at Policlinico A. Gemelli, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome until 2003, where he demonstrated particular interest in Functional and Spinal Neurosurgery, one of the fields of greatest development in global Neurosurgery due to the growing interest in minimally invasive treatment of spinal surgery and pain management.
From 2003 he continued his clinical and surgical activity at Policlinico Casilino in Rome where, until 2010, he performed approximately 600 neurosurgery procedures per year as primary surgeon in ordinary hospitalization, day surgery and outpatient surgery regimens. His surgical activity during that period was focused on the treatment of spinal pathologies. He was also able to demonstrate his surgical potential in the treatment of craniocerebral and cranial vascular trauma.
Until 2012 he carried out his clinical and surgical activity at San Carlo di Nancy Hospital in the Vertebral Surgery Department, focusing on minimally invasive Spinal Surgery treatments (approximately 200 procedures/year).
From 2012 to 2013 he attended the Executive Master in Business Administration in Healthcare and Pharmaceutical at Luiss Business School in Rome. This experience led him to develop expertise in managerial administration of public, contracted and private healthcare.
From 2013 until November 2015 he provided Outpatient Services and performed Neurosurgery and Vertebral Surgery procedures in private practice and under agreement with the NHS as a Senior Private Consultant for Accredited Facilities, Contracted with the Italian NHS and Private non-contracted facilities (approximately 300 procedures/year).
In 2015 he was hired through Public Competition Ranking as a permanent Medical Director Neurosurgeon of the UOC Neurosurgery at Belcolle Hospital, Local Health Authority (ASL) Viterbo – Italy, a position from which he subsequently resigned voluntarily.
He is currently a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spine Surgeon (Senior Independent Consultant Neurosurgeon & Spine Surgeon) at Private Accredited Facilities, both contracted and non-contracted with the Italian National Health System.
